Bottom-ranked Thailand Tigers is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to third ranked Filipino Valientes (3-2) 118-73 on Thursday evening. Valientes dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Tigers' 38. They outrebounded Tigers 67-39 including a 26-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Valientes looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American forward Antonio Hester (198-1990, college: Mobile, AL) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import center Ryan Smith (213-1995, college: Tulane) accounted for 17 points and 24 rebounds. Hester is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Jose Nouchanthavong (187, college: S.Maine) came up with 16 points and 4 assists and guard Kittitep Dasom (179-1996) added 6 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for Tigers in the defeat. Five Valientes and four Tigers players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valientes maintains third place with 3-2 record behind leader HK Eastern, which they share with Singapore S. and NS Matrix. Loser Tigers still closes the standings with six games lost.
