Singapore Singapore S. (2-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Filipino Valientes (1-2) 87-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Singapore S.. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Antonio Hester (198-1990, college: Mobile, AL) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Center Ryan Smith (213-1995, college: Tulane) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Hester is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Valientes' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Kentrell Barkley (195-1996, college: ECU, agency: Haylett Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and center CJ Gettys (213-1994, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) added 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Singapore S. players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Valientes went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Louvre S. Singapore S. at the other side keeps the third place with one game lost. Valientes is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Tigers (#8) in Bangkok in the next round. Singapore S. will play at home against the league's leader Heat (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
