Regular Season Round 17: Kings - Lioneers 101-85

An interesting game for Kings (12-3) which played against 4th placed Lioneers (7-8). First ranked Kings had an easy win 101-85. Kings outrebounded Lioneers 61-49 including a 44-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Kings brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Lioneers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American-British center Byron Mullens (213-1989, college: Ohio St., agency: BeoBasket) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 21 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks for the winners and American swingman Kenny Manigault (195-1991, college: Pikeville) chipped in 19 points and 10 rebounds. Four Kings players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Will Artino (211-1992, college: Creighton) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 20 rebounds and 4 blocks and American guard Terrico White (196-1990, college: Ole Miss) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kings have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-3 record. Lioneers at the other side dropped to the third position with eight games lost. They share it with Fubon Braves. Kings will play against bottom-ranked Steelers (#6) in Kaohsiung in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lioneers will play on the road against Dreamers in Changhua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
