We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Jinan where 10th ranked Heroes (14-11) were defeated by eleventh ranked Flying Tigers (14-11) 100-95 on Saturday. Flying Tigers had a 39-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Flying Tigers made 10 blocks. The best player for the winners was Senegalese center Tacko Fall (231-1995, college: UCF) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 8 blocks. Lin Qi (200-1999) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Shiyan Gao (186-1996) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international center Hanlin Tao (208-1991) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Flying Tigers and five Heroes players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Flying Tigers moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Shandong H. and Nanjing TX MK. Flying Tigers will meet higher ranked Sharks (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Heroes will play against Eagles and hope to secure a win.
