Regular Season Round 1: Al Khor - Al Rayyan 63-77

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Al Khor at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Al Rayyan 77-63. Al Rayyan dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Al Khor's 24. Al Rayyan forced 22 Al Khor turnovers and had a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 50 assists. The former international forward Tanguy Ngombo (197-1984) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners and international center Meho Haracic (213-1998) chipped in 4 points, 16 rebounds and 16 assists. At the losing side center Aladji Bobo Magassa (206-2000) responded with a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 15 assists and American point guard Ameer Jackson (193-1994, college: WSSU) produced a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists. Al Rayyan is looking forward to face Al Wakrah on the road in the next round. Al Khor will have a break next round.
