Regular Season Round 25: Ningbo R. - Guangsha L. 81-100

Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Guangsha Lions (13-11) outplayed bottom-ranked Rockets (2-21) in Ningbo 100-81 on Friday. Guangsha Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rockets' 38. They outrebounded Rockets 48-32 including 34 on the defensive glass. Guangsha Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The former international center Jinqiu Hu (211-1997) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Canadian power forward Kyle Wiltjer (206-1992, college: Gonzaga) accounted for 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. American point guard Brandon Taylor (178-1994, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Hongyu Ning (210-1995) added 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for Rockets in the defeat. Five Guangsha Lions and four Rockets players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Guangsha Lions have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted Rockets stay dead last with 21 lost games. Guangsha Lions will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rockets will play against Aviators (#6) in Shenzhen and hope to secure a win.
