Regular Season Round 12: Toyota A. - Aishin AW 83-53

WJBL top team - Toyota A. (11-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Aishin AW (5-7) in Nagoya 83-53. They outrebounded Aishin AW 39-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. Toyota A. players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by the former international center Stephanie Mawuli (182-1998) who scored that evening 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Chinatsu Umeki (168-2000) supported her with 16 points and 5 assists. Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. Coach Yuko Ogami's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 23 points by June Mineharu (171-1999) did not help to save the game for Aishin AW. Point guard CaiDeng Sakai (164-1995) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Toyota A. have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-1 record. Aishin AW at the other side keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Hitachi Cougars. Toyota A. will play against Haneda V. (#11) in Tokyo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aishin AW will have a break next round.
