The game between closely ranked teams ended with 14th ranked Eagles' (10-12) home loss to thirteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (11-10) 95-101 on Tuesday. Jiangsu Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Eagles' 40. They outrebounded Eagles 49-31 including a 38-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jiangsu Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Antonio Blakeney (193-1996, college: LSU) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and center Quanxi Wu (211-1994) who added 17 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Jiayi Zhao (205-1999) with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and South Sudanese-Australian center Duop Reath (210-1996, college: LSU) scored 20 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Five Jiangsu Dragons and four Eagles players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Xinjiang FT. Eagles lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons will meet higher ranked Aviators (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Eagles will have a break next round.
