Leader Hiroshima D. recorded the twenty first victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 7th ranked Sendai 89ers (8-18) 92-66. They outrebounded Sendai 89ers 37-23 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hiroshima D. shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Nick Mayo (206-1997, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 26 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American Nathan Boothe (206-1994, college: Toledo) with 17 points and 5 assists and Keita Sawabe (184-1995) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Hiroshima D.. They maintain first place with 21-5 record. Sendai 89ers lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the seventh position with 18 games lost. Hiroshima D. will meet at home San-en NP (#5) in the next round. Sendai 89ers will play against Gunma CT and hope to secure a win.
