Regular Season Round 27: Ryukyu GK - Alvark Tokyo 82-71

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Okinawa. Third ranked Ryukyu GK faced second-best Alvark Tokyo. Host Ryukyu GK (20-6) defeated guests from Tokyo (20-6) 82-71. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Alvark Tokyo. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 30 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-1990) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Ryukyu GK's coach Dai Oketani used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Justin Cobbs (191-1991, college: California, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 16 points and 8 assists and the former international forward Ryan Rossiter (204-1989, college: Siena) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Ryukyu GK moved-up to second place, which they share with Alvark Tokyo and Shimane SM. Ryukyu GK is looking forward to face league's second-placed Yokohama BC on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alvark Tokyo will play against the league's leader Kawasaki BT and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
