Regular Season Round 25: Kawasaki BT - Kyoto H. 83-87

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Kawasaki BT (15-10) in Kanagawa on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Kyoto H. (11-14) 87-83. Kyoto H. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Mali power forward Cheick Diallo (206-1996, college: Kansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds. Point guard Yoshiaki Kubota (175-1997) contributed with 19 points and 8 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-1985, college: Nevada) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and American power forward Michael Young (206-1994, college: Pittsburgh) added 26 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Kawasaki BT. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kyoto H. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Osaka E. and Akita NH. Kawasaki BT at the other side still keeps top position with ten games lost. They share it with Yokohama BC. Kyoto H. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kawasaki BT will play again at home against Kyoto H. and is hoping to win this game.
