Very significant was Al Ahli's 33-point road victory against Al Jubaiha 104-71. Al Ahli forced 20 Al Jubaiha turnovers and outrebounded them 48-33 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. American forward Gerard Tarin (206-1996, college: Nova SE) nailed a double-double by scoring 30 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and the former international forward Zane Najdawi (201-1996, college: Citadel) accounted for 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Tarin is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Al Ahli players scored in double figures. Guyanese-American forward Kevin Mickle (201-1993, college: Ohio) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and point guard Mitri Bosheh (180-1996) added 4 points and 6 assists respectively for Al Jubaiha in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Al Ahli's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Amman to the arena Al Riyadi.
