Regular Season Round 23: Shinshu BW - Shimane SM 84-101

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Shinshu BW (11-12) against fourth ranked Shimane SM (17-6) on Sunday night. Host Shinshu BW unexpectedly was defeated by in Nagano 84-101. Shimane SM had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 29 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international guard Seiya Ando (184-1992) chipped in 32 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international guard Yuta Okada (189-1998) produced 26 points and 6 assists and American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Shimane SM. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Loser Shinshu BW dropped to the fourth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Tochigi Brex. Shimane SM will meet Sea Horses M. (#6) in the next round. Shinshu BW will play against the league's leader Kawasaki BT in Kanagawa and hope to secure a win.
