Regular Season Round 9: Himeji E. - Chanson V-M 71-79

Very predictable result when seventh ranked Chanson V-M (5-4) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Himeji E. (1-8) 79-71 on Saturday. They outrebounded Himeji E. 60-36 including a 31-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Miwa Kuribayashi (188-1998) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds. Sakura Noguchi (181-2001) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Minami Shirasaki (166-1996) who recorded 31 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Saori Yoshida (158-1984) added 19 points respectively. Himeji E.'s coach Yoshihiko Iyoda let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Chanson V-M moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Toyota BSR. Himeji E. lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Chanson V-M will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Himeji E. will play against Toyota BSR (#7) and hope to win that game.
