CBA top team - Golden Bulls (15-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed nineteenth ranked Sturgeons (2-15) in Hangzhou 110-81. Golden Bulls dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Sturgeons' 34. They outrebounded Sturgeons 53-42 including 38 on the defensive glass. Golden Bulls looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Sturgeons' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Golden Bulls made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Zeyi Liu (202-1999) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 9 rebounds (on 13-of-14 shooting from the field). American Jarmar Gulley (196-1991, college: Missouri St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Five Golden Bulls players scored in double figures. Golden Bulls' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bulgarian-American point guard Darius Adams (188-1989, college: Indianapolis) answered with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and Australian-South Sudanese center Thon Maker (216-1997) added 27 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Sturgeons. Golden Bulls maintains first place with 15-1 record. Sturgeons lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the nineteenth position with 15 games lost. Golden Bulls are looking forward to face Pioneers (#17) in Tianjin in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Sturgeons will play on the road against Guandong Tigers in Dongguan and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
