Regular Season Round 22: Nishinomiya S. - Ehime OV 85-86

The most exciting game of round 22 in the B2 League took place in Hyogo. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 6th ranked Nishinomiya S. (9-15) to fourth ranked Ehime OV (13-11) 86-85 on Saturday evening. Ehime OV looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Guard Shunpei Ishii (187-1995) chipped in 17 points. American forward Trey Porter (208-1996, college: Nevada) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Slovenian center Ziga Dimec (210-1993) added 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. Ehime OV have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Kumamoto V. Nishinomiya S. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Fukuoka R.. Ehime OV will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nishinomiya S. will play again at home against Ehime OV (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
