Regular Season Round 22: Shinshu BW - Shimane SM 86-93

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Shinshu BW (11-11) against fourth ranked Shimane SM (16-6) on Saturday night. Host Shinshu BW unexpectedly was defeated by in Nagano 86-93. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Shinshu BW. Shimane SM players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Perrin Buford (198-1994, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Australian Nick Kay (206-1992, college: MSU Denver) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Five Shimane SM players scored in double figures. Shimane SM's coach Paul Henare allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and the former international guard Yuta Okada (189-1998) scored 23 points and 8 assists. Shimane SM moved-up to third place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Shinshu BW at the other side keeps the third position with 11 games lost. Shimane SM will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shinshu BW will play again at home against Shimane SM and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
