Regular Season Round 18: KCC Egis - Goyang 90-83

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked KCC Egis (10-13) beat higher ranked Goyang (11-11) in Jeonju 90-83 on Saturday. KCC Egis dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Goyang's 26. They outrebounded Goyang 42-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. KCC Egis looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international forward Guna Ra (203-1989, college: Missouri) notched 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Woong Heo (183-1993) supported him with 14 points and 6 assists. Four KCC Egis players scored in double figures. Even 33 points (!!!) by international guard Seonghyen Jeon (190-1991) did not help to save the game for Goyang. American power forward Dedric Lawson (206-1997, college: Kansas) added 26 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KCC Egis moved-up to seventh place, which they share with KoGas. Loser Goyang keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost. KCC Egis will meet league's second-placed LG Sakers in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Goyang will play against the league's leader Anyang where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
