Regular Season Round 22: Ryukyu GK - Hokkaido L. 80-66

Very predictable result when first ranked Ryukyu GK (18-4) won against 7th ranked Hokkaido L. (6-16) in Okinawa 80-66 on Saturday. Ryukyu GK dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Hokkaido L.'s 38. They outrebounded Hokkaido L. 40-19 including a 17-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Allen Durham (198-1988, college: Grace Christian) notched 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 19 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 26 points by Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU) did not help to save the game for Hokkaido L.. Tsukasa Nakano (184-1996) added 13 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ryukyu GK maintains first position with 18-4 record, which they share with Chiba Jets. Loser Hokkaido L. keeps the seventh place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Ibaraki R.. Ryukyu GK will again meet at home Hokkaido L. (#7) in the next round where they are favorite.
