There was no surprise when 13th ranked Shanan Utd (8-16) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Tokyo Utd (14-10) 80-70 on Friday. Tokyo Utd forced 21 Shanan Utd turnovers. Strangely Shanan Utd outrebounded Tokyo Utd 40-28 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American Marcus Dove (206-1985, college: OK State) had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Hiroki Higashi (185-1995) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Tokyo Utd players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Chris Olivier (202-1992, college: OK State, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Steven Green (196-1993, college: OKBU) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Shanan Utd's coach Takeshi Hotta rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tokyo Utd have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Tokyo Utd maintains seventh position with 14-10 record. Shanan Utd lost fifth consecutive game. Shanan Utd at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Toyoda. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
