There was no surprise in Jiangsu where 17th ranked Blue Whales (3-13) were defeated by seventh ranked Monkey Kings (10-6) 111-103 on Wednesday. Monkey Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Monkey Kings made 7 blocks. American point guard QJ Peterson (183-1994, college: VMI) stepped up and scored 36 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and the former international point guard Tal Co (191-1991) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 15 assists. Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-1985, agency: BIG) responded with a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 19 rebounds, 13 assists and 6 blocks (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and forward Dianliang Zhang (200-1997) scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Five Monkey Kings and four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Monkey Kings. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Beijing D. and Shandong H. Blue Whales lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the seventeenth position with 13 games lost.
