Regular Season Round 21: Iwate - Yokohama EX 96-72
Date: December 18, 2022
Rather predictable result when third ranked Iwate (18-4) smashed at home 6th ranked Yokohama EX (14-8) 96-72 on Sunday. Iwate made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Iwate outrebounded Yokohama EX 40-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Kristian Doolittle (201-1997, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds for the winners and Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-1996, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Iwate players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Jordan Faison (201-1994, college: CPP) with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import center Ryan Stephan (208-1994, college: CMU) scored 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Iwate maintains third place with 18-4 record having just two points less than leader Kagoshima. Yokohama EX lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Iwate are looking forward to face league's leader Kagoshima in Renova in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yokohama EX will play at home against Shinagawa (#16) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
