Regular Season Round 21: Bambitious N. - Kagawa FA 85-81

Date: December 18, 2022
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Nara where seventh ranked Bambitious N. (6-17) defeated 6th ranked Kagawa FA (8-15) 85-81 on Sunday. Bambitious N. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Christian James (194-1996, college: Oklahoma) who scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Senegalese center Cheikh Mbodj (208-1987, college: Cincinnati, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was Australian forward Rhys Vague (206-1996) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-1989, college: Oregon St.) added 25 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bambitious N. maintains seventh place with 6-17 record. Loser Kagawa FA keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. Bambitious N. will meet higher ranked Fukushima (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kagawa FA will play against the league's leader Chiba where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
