Regular Season Round 19: Sendai 89ers - Chiba Jets 62-78

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Chiba Jets (15-4) defeated on the road 6th ranked Sendai 89ers (6-13) 78-62 on Wednesday. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for forward John Mooney (206-1998, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Victor Law (201-1995, college: Northwestern, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Forward Rashawn Thomas (203-1994, college: TAMUCC) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and forward Justin Burrell (207-1988, college: St.John's) added 6 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Sendai 89ers in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba Jets maintains first place with 15-4 record, which they share with Hiroshima D. Sendai 89ers lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the sixth position with 13 games lost. Chiba Jets will meet at home Ibaraki R. (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sendai 89ers will play against Yokohama BC and hope to secure a win.
