Regular Season Round 8: Aranmare A. - Haneda V. 53-71

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Haneda V. (2-6) won against higher ranked Aranmare A. (2-6) in Akita 71-53 on Sunday. The winners were led by swingman Takano Hashikouta (168-1995) who scored that evening 21 points and 6 rebounds and international guard Nanoko Motohashi (164-1993) supported her with 16 points. Haneda V.'s coach Mikiko Hagiwara used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Asuka Hiramatsu (162-1994) did not help to save the game for Aranmare A.. Yui Kakazu (174-1999) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Haneda V. moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Yamanashi QB and Aranmare A. Haneda V. will meet at home higher ranked Eneos S. (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Aranmare A. will play against Hitachi Cougars (#9) in Hitachinaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
