No shocking result in a game in Nagano where fifth ranked Shinshu BW (8-10) defeated 7th ranked Hokkaido L. (5-13) 77-65 on Sunday. They outrebounded Hokkaido L. 47-33 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Anthony McHenry (202-1983, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 15 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and American-Finnish forward Alex Murphy (206-1993, college: Northeastern) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Hokkaido L.'s coach Kenichi Sako let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Shinshu BW have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with San-en NP and Osaka E. Loser Hokkaido L. keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost. They share it with Ibaraki R.. Shinshu BW will meet San-en NP (#4) in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play against Gunma CT and hope to secure a win.
