Regular Season Round 17: Shiga L-Stars - Sea Horses M. 69-67

A very close game took place in Shiga between Shiga L-Stars and Sea Horses M.. Eighth ranked Shiga L-Stars (4-13) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Sea Horses M. (6-11). Shiga L-Stars managed to escape with a 2-point win 69-67 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Kelvin Martin (196-1989, college: Charleston So.) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Teppei Kashiwagura (180-1995) chipped in 9 points and 4 assists. American power forward Davante Gardner (203-1991, college: Marquette) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Yudai Nishida (188-1999) added 21 points and 8 assists respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Toyama G. Loser Sea Horses M. dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Sendai 89ers. Shiga L-Stars will again meet at home higher ranked Sea Horses M. (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sea Horses M. will have a break next round.
