Regular Season Round 16: Shinagawa - Shizuoka 75-82
Date: December 1, 2022
Bottom-ranked Shinagawa (0-18) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 82-75 loss to second ranked Shizuoka (16-2) in Shinagawa on Thursday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. They outrebounded Shinagawa 36-19 including a 14-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Shizuoka looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-1994, college: Texas A&M) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) who added 18 points and 5 assists during the contest. Miller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American forward AJ Bramah (201-1999, college: Nevada) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds and Daiki Uematsu (187-1990) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shinagawa's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Shizuoka keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kagoshima. Loser Shinagawa still closes the standings. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
