Regular Season Round 13: Shinshu BW - Akita NH 73-80

An interesting game was also tough home defeat of 5th ranked Shinshu BW in a game in Nagano versus Akita NH (#5) 80-73. Akita NH dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 24. They outrebounded Shinshu BW 43-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. Stanton Kidd (202-1992, college: Colorado St.) nailed 31 points for the winning side and center Steve Zack (211-1992, college: La Salle) accounted for 12 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) came up with 20 points and 6 rebounds and Anthony McHenry (202-1983, college: Georgia Tech) added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Shinshu BW in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akita NH (6-7) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kyoto H. and Yokohama BC. Shinshu BW lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Akita NH will meet at home higher ranked Alvark Tokyo (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shinshu BW will play against Toyama G. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
