Regular Season Round 14: Tokyo HT - Shanan Utd 89-61

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Tokyo HT and 8th ranked Shanan Utd had identical 6-9 record. This time Tokyo HT used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Kanagawa 89-61 on Saturday night. Tokyo HT forced 26 Shanan Utd turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Shanan Utd's players. American forward Robert Sampson (203-1992, college: Georgia Tech) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Justin Baker (203-1989, college: Utah Valley) supported him with 24 points, 7 assists and 7 steals. Worth to mention Sampson played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Tokyo HT players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Chris Olivier (202-1992, college: OK State, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Shanan Utd. Power forward Blake Aoki (202-1993) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Shanan Utd's coach Takeshi Hotta gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Tokyo HT (7-9) moved-up to eighth place. Newly promoted Shanan Utd dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Kanazawa. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
