Rather expected game when 7th ranked Tokyo Z (3-13) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Yamagata (8-8) 97-64 on Saturday. Yamagata dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Tokyo Z's 28. They outrebounded Tokyo Z 39-26 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Yamagata looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Tokyo Z's players. American center Thomas Welsh (213-1996, college: UCLA, agency: Pensack Sports) notched 9 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American-Panamanian center Javier Carter (203-1991, college: USA, agency: Slash Sports) supported him with 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field).
