We should mention about the upset which took place in Tachikawa, where higher ranked Kanazawa (6-8) lost to fifteenth ranked Tachikawa (3-11) in a road game 59-67 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kanazawa. They outrebounded Kanazawa 43-28 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Tristin Walley (201-1996, college: Arkansas St., agency: One Motive Sports) stepped up and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Scott Blakney (203-1998, college: Montana) chipped in 8 points and 10 rebounds. Tachikawa's coach Takeo Mabashi used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Ukrainian forward Oleksandr Antypov (203-1995, agency: BIG) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Yugo Okuda (176-1999) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Tachikawa moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser Kanazawa keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with Tokyo HT. Tachikawa will meet at home Gifu (#15) in the next round. Kanazawa will play against Saitama (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
