Regular Season Round 5: Taoyuan L. - N.Taipei CTBC 120-115

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked N.Taipei CTBC (3-2) against third ranked Leopards on Saturday night. Leopards were defeated by third ranked Leopards (1-2) 120-115. Leopards shot 19 for 32 from the free-throw line, while N.Taipei CTBC only scored three points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by N.Taipei CTBC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Yu-Cheng Du (183-1995) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 25 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 blocks for the winners and Cheng-Feng Lo (195-1997) chipped in 26 points and 7 rebounds. Four Leopards players scored in double figures. The former international forward Mohammad Al Bachir (188-1998) responded with 51 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and the former international point guard Wei-Han Lin (178-1990) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists. N.Taipei CTBC's coach Yi-hua Lee rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Leopards went down to fifth position due to points difference, which they share with Tainan GH. N.Taipei CTBC at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Leopards will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. N.Taipei CTBC will play on the road against the league's second-placed Aquas in Kaohsiung and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
