Regular Season Round 10: FE Nagoya - Shinshu BW 75-89

There was a minor upset when their close opponent FE Nagoya (5-5) lost at home to fifth ranked Shinshu BW (5-5) 89-75 on Saturday. Shinshu BW made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American players dominated the game. Forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) notched 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Anthony McHenry (202-1983, college: Georgia Tech) supported him with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds by power forward Johnathan Williams III (206-1995, college: Gonzaga) did not help to save the game for FE Nagoya. Forward Andrew Randall (198-1990, college: Temple) added 14 points and 4 assists for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Shinshu BW moved-up to fourth place, which they share with FE Nagoya and Kyoto H. FE Nagoya lost fifth consecutive game. Shinshu BW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. FE Nagoya will play again against Shinshu BW (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
