Regular Season Round 8: KCC Egis - LG Sakers 62-63

A very close game took place in Jeonju between LG Sakers and KCC Egis. Sixth ranked LG Sakers (7-5) got a very close victory on the road over 8th ranked KCC Egis (4-8). LG Sakers managed to escape with a 1-point win 63-62 on Friday evening. The winners were led by Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 19 rebounds and point guard Wong-Sang Yoon (181-1998) supported him with 21 points. LG Sakers' coach Sung-Won Cho used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 13 points and 15 rebounds by the former international forward Guna Ra (203-1989, college: Missouri) did not help to save the game for KCC Egis. The former international guard Woong Heo (183-1993) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the hosts. LG Sakers moved-up to third place. Loser KCC Egis keep the eighth position with eight games lost. LG Sakers will meet at home league's leader Anyang in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KCC Egis will play against Seoul Thunders (#4) and hope to secure a win.
