Very expected game when 10th ranked KoGas (2-8) were smashed by second ranked Goyang (7-3) in Inchon 90-66 on Thursday. Goyang looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Goyang made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American power forward Dedric Lawson (206-1997, college: Kansas) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks and the former international Lee Jung-Hyun (190-1999) supported him with 22 points and 4 assists. Five Goyang players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds by American forward Murphy Holloway (201-1990, college: Ole Miss, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for KoGas. Filipino guard SJ Belangel (177-1999) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Goyang have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-3 record having 2 victories less than leader Anyang. KoGas lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. Goyang will meet at home Wonju DB (#5) in the next round. KoGas will play against Mobis Phoebus (#6) in Ulsan and hope to secure a win.
