Regular Season Round 11: Chiba - Nagasaki 104-84

B2 League round 11 caused change at the leadership position. Fourth defeat of league's leader Nagasaki (9-4) against second ranked Chiba (9-4) 104-84 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Nagasaki. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Chiba dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Nagasaki's 42 and made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Nagasaki 51-17 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Chiba looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. American Brandon Ashley (206-1994, college: Arizona) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Evan Ravenel (204-1989, college: Ohio St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) answered with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Kanji Takahira (185-1993) added 14 points in the effort for Nagasaki. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chiba keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Ehime OV and Nagasaki. Nagasaki will play next round against strong Saga B. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Chiba will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Tokyo Z on the road.
