Regular Season Round 11: Okayama - Shizuoka 72-84

An interesting game for Shizuoka (11-1) which played road game in Okayama against 4th placed Okayama (9-3). First ranked Shizuoka managed to get a 12-point victory 84-72. Shizuoka dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Okayama's 36. Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-1994, college: Texas A&M) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Miller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-1985, college: FAU) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and Nigerian forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-1991) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Okayama. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shizuoka have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-1 record. Okayama at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Iwate. Shizuoka are looking forward to face Tokyo Utd (#6) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Okayama will play against Shinagawa and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
