Regular Season Round 8: LG Sakers - Seoul Knights 65-90
Date: November 13, 2022
There was a minor upset when 6th ranked LG Sakers (7-5) were outleveled by ninth ranked Seoul Knights (4-7) in Changwon 90-65 on Sunday. Seoul Knights made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game, while LG Sakers only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded LG Sakers 38-25 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American center Jameel Warney (203-1994, college: Stony Brook) who scored that evening 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import power forward Leon Williams (203-1986, college: Ohio) supported him with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Seoul Knights players scored in double figures. Even 13 points by forward Hee-Jae Jeong (195-1989) did not help to save the game for LG Sakers. The former international swingman Kihun Byun (187-1989) added 14 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to seventh place. Loser LG Sakers dropped to the third position with five games lost. Seoul Knights will meet at home Suwon KT (#9) in the next round. LG Sakers will play against the league's leader Anyang (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
