Regular Season Round 11: Nishinomiya S. - Yamagata 86-90

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Nishinomiya S. (7-6) against fifth ranked Yamagata (5-8) on Sunday night. Host Nishinomiya S. was defeated by Yamagata in a tough game in Hyogo 86-90. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Nishinomiya S.. Yamagata players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for American James Bell (196-1992, college: Villanova, agency: Slash Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American-Panamanian center Javier Carter (203-1991, college: USA, agency: Slash Sports) helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. American forward DeQuan Jones (203-1990, college: Miami, FL) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Slovenian center Ziga Dimec (210-1993) scored 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Yamagata maintains fifth place with 5-8 record. Nishinomiya S. at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Yamagata will play against higher ranked Aomori W. (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nishinomiya S. will play against Fukuoka R. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
