Regular Season Round 8: KCC Egis - Wonju DB 88-73

There was an upset when higher ranked Wonju DB (6-4) lost to eighth ranked KCC Egis (4-8) in Jeonju 73-88 on Saturday. KCC Egis made 20-of-20 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. The winners were led by the former international forward Guna Ra (203-1989, college: Missouri) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the former international guard Gwan-Hee Lee (190-1988) supported him with 17 points. Even 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by American forward Lennard Freeman (203-1995, college: NC State) did not help to save the game for Wonju DB. Guard Ethan Albano (185-1996) added 14 points and 4 assists for the guests. Five KCC Egis and four Wonju DB players scored in double figures. Wonju DB's coach Sang-Bum Lee rotated twelve players and allowed the starting five to rest. KCC Egis maintains eighth position with 4-8 record. Loser Wonju DB dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Mobis Phoebus. KCC Egis will meet higher ranked Seoul Thunders (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Wonju DB will play against the league's second-placed Goyang and will have a slim chance for a victory.
