Regular Season Round 6: Tomiris - Aktobe 67-62

No shocking result in a game in Almaty where third ranked Tomiris (6-1) defeated 6th ranked Aktobe (3-4) 67-62. They outrebounded Aktobe 55-33 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Ukrainian guard Elizaveta Mitina (172-1998) who led her team to a victory with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Russian center Aleksandra Varaksina (190-1993) contributed with 7 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Russian Olga Aksenova (187-1996) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Oksana Bagmet (170-1996) added 8 points and 8 assists in the effort for Aktobe. Four Aktobe players scored in double figures. Tomiris have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Astana Tigers. Aktobe at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Tomiris will play against Irtysh (#5) in Pavlodar in the next round. Aktobe will play at home against Barsy Atyr. and hopes to get back on the winning track.
