Regular Season Round 9: Shinagawa - Yokohama EX 75-103
Date: November 7, 2022
There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Shinagawa (0-10) was outplayed at home by fourth ranked Yokohama EX (8-2) 103-75 on Monday. Yokohama EX dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Shinagawa's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 21 passes made by Shinagawa's players. The best player for the winners was American center Ryan Stephan (208-1994, college: CMU) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import center Baylee Steele (213-1997, college: Duquesne, agency: One Motive Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Four Yokohama EX players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward AJ Bramah (201-1999, college: Nevada) who recorded 28 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Daiki Uematsu (187-1990) added 7 points and 7 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yokohama EX moved-up to third place, which they share with Kagoshima. Shinagawa lost their tenth game in a row. They still close the standings with ten games lost. Yokohama EX will meet at home Gifu (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Shinagawa will play against Yamaguchi and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
