Regular Season Round 8: Aomori W. - Nishinomiya S. 87-70

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Nishinomiya S. (5-5) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Aomori W. (5-5) 87-70 on Saturday. Aomori W. forced 22 Nishinomiya S. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Max Hisatake (203-1998, college: IlIinois Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals. The other American import forward Alex Davis (206-1992, college: Fresno St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Aomori W. players scored in double figures. Aomori W.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward DeQuan Jones (203-1990, college: Miami, FL) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Kento Matsuzaki (178-1988) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Aomori W. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Nishinomiya S. Aomori W. will again meet at home Nishinomiya S. (#4) in the next round.
