Regular Season Round 8: Ehime OV - Kumamoto V. 91-100

Leading Ehime OV (9-2) recorded its second loss in Matsuyama. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Kumamoto V. (6-5) 100-91. Kumamoto V. forced 23 Ehime OV turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-1987, college: Georgia) who scored that evening 42 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists and British forward Benjamin Lawson (216-1995, college: WKU) supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 23 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists by American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) did not help to save the game for Ehime OV. American-German power forward Ryan Kriener (208-1998, college: Iowa) added 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Kumamoto V. went down to fourth position due to points difference. Ehime OV at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
