Regular Season Round 8: Shanan Utd - Okayama 107-84
Date: November 4, 2022
The most surprising game was the first loss of Okayama (9-1) in Kanagawa on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by ninth ranked Shanan Utd (4-6) 107-84. It was a great shooting night for Shanan Utd especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Okayama helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Chris Olivier (202-1992, college: OK State, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Steven Green (196-1993, college: OKBU) contributed with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Nigerian forward Chukwudiebere Maduabum (206-1991) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-1985, college: FAU) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Okayama. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shanan Utd have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Shanan Utd went down to tenth position due to points difference. Okayama at the other side still keeps top place with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
