Regular Season Round 5: LG Sakers - Wonju DB 94-102

An interesting game for Wonju DB (5-1) which played road game in Changwon against 4th placed LG Sakers (4-4). Second ranked Wonju DB managed to get a 8-point victory 102-94. Wonju DB made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. American power forward Dewan Hernandez (211-1997, college: Miami, FL) nailed 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and international forward SangJae Kang (202-1994) accounted for 20 points and 10 rebounds. Four Wonju DB players scored in double figures. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds and the former international swingman Kihun Byun (187-1989) added 23 points respectively for LG Sakers in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wonju DB have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-1 record behind leader Anyang. Loser LG Sakers keep the fourth position with four games lost. Wonju DB will meet at home Mobis Phoebus (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. LG Sakers will play against Seoul Knights and hope to secure a win.
