Regular Season Round 12: TNT Tropang - Phoenix 88-91
Date: October 30, 2022
Important game to mention about took place in Makati. Fifth ranked Phoenix (5-3) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked TNT Tropang (3-4) 91-88 on Sunday evening. Phoenix forced 19 TNT Tropang turnovers and outrebounded them 51-40 including 16 on the offensive glass. TNT Tropang was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American power forward Kaleb Wesson (208-1999, college: Ohio St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Encho Serrano supported him with 16 points. Four Phoenix players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward Cameron Oliver (203-1996, college: Nevada) did not help to save the game for TNT Tropang. Roger Ray Pogoy (189-1992) added 22 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Phoenix have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. TNT Tropang at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Phoenix will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. TNT Tropang will play on the road against Terrafirma Dyip (#13) in Makati City and hopes to get back on the winning track.
