Regular Season Round 8: Tianjin - Beijing RF 82-97

Very predictable result when ninth ranked Royal Fighters (4-4) won against 15th ranked Pioneers (3-6) in Tianjin 97-82 on Thursday. Royal Fighters outrebounded Pioneers 50-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by American point guard Trae Golden (189-1991, college: Georgia Tech) who scored that evening 23 points and 6 rebounds and Fan Zhang (195-1996) supported him with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Even 29 points and 8 rebounds by American point guard Brandon Jefferson (175-1991, college: MSU Denver) did not help to save the game for Pioneers. Taiwanese guard Benson Lin (193-1999, college: Bryant) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Royal Fighters went down to tenth position due to points difference. Pioneers lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Shanghai S.. Royal Fighters will meet at home Sharks (#17) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pioneers will play against Aviators in Shenzhen and hope to secure a win.
