Regular Season Round 9: San-en NP - Sea Horses M. 92-71

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked San-en NP as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Ryukyu GK) loss. San-en NP smashed 3rd placed Sea Horses M. in Hamamatsu 92-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sea Horses M.. San-en NP players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Sea Horses M.'s players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a good game for forward Yante Maten (203-1996, college: Georgia) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Kyle Collinsworth (198-1991, college: BYU) contributed with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. San-en NP's coach Branislav Vicentic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Kyle OQuinn (206-1990, college: Norfolk St., agency: Pensack Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds and power forward Davante Gardner (203-1991, college: Marquette) added 21 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Sea Horses M.The victory was the third consecutive win for San-en NP. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Alvark Tokyo and Gunma CT. Sea Horses M. at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Sea Horses M. will play next round against Tochigi Brex trying to get back on the winning streak. San-en NP will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Akita NH on the road.
